Housed at a fire station, the City of Franklin's Critical Incident Command Vehicle (ICV) may be deployed on major incidents and serves as a mobile command post and communications center.
The ICV can be deployed on a number of different types of events, including: Missing Persons/Terrain Searches/Kidnapping, 2nd Alarm (and greater) structure fires, Bomb/Device Located, SRT Activation, Active Shooter, HAZMAT, Natural Disasters, etc. Additionally, incident commanders on the scene of any situation may request a response of the Critical Incident Command Vehicle if deemed necessary.
Once deployed, the ICV allows communication and command staff personnel access to satellite TV and internet, cellular and landline telecommunications, UHF/VHF/CB/Amateur Radio, video surveillance technology, and a number of other technologies. During extended on-scene operations, having these resources available to incident commanders can be vital to quickly and efficiently reaching a resolution to the event. The ICV is also outfitted with radio equipment capable of communicating with surrounding Middle Tennessee agencies, as well as an interoperability system capable patching any other radio into our systems.
