Land Use Plan Amendment
The Land Use Plan is document, adopted and maintained by the Planning Commission, which contains policy statements regarding what land uses are appropriate for each of Franklin’s separate and distinct planning neighborhoods. The current Plan was first adopted in 2004 after months of study and input by numerous citizens, public officials, and staff.
When the land use plan does not support the applicant’s intended use of the property, a request is made to amend the land use policy statement regarding what is considered appropriate within a planning neighborhood. Typically, this is a prelude to an applicant’s request to rezone property.
