Arborist Job Description:

The City of Franklin recognizes the importance of trees in a municipal environment. Trees are highly valued assets that enhance the surrounding environment. Trees can also reduce noise and air pollution and provide energy saving shade and cooling. A healthy tree population can promote a positive community image and add to a great quality of life. Older trees can hold irreplaceable historical value. The City of Franklin Arborist position was created to facilitate a tree management plan and encourage the City Government and its citizens to understand the importance of trees in today’s ever increasing urban environment.

Arborist Duties:

  1. Staff liaison to the Franklin Tree Commission.
  2. Assisting other city government departments on any tree related issues.
  3. Educating the public about the importance of trees in an urban environment.
  4. Working together with other city organizations to enhance public understanding of tree related issues.
  5. Purchasing or contracting for products or services related to tree service activities.
