This division is responsible for transporting waste to an approved landfill. The waste is brought into our facility by City refuse trucks and private hauling companies.
Brush collected through our transfer station is ground into wood chips. Wood chips are used by the City Parks Department in our local parks, with the balance taken to the Williamson County Landfill where the chips are used in their daily operations.
Metals collected are diverted from the landfill and delivered to local metal recycler, B. Miller Recycling, for a rebate, based on volume.
Biodegradable paper bags of small yard waste, collected curbside, are diverted to the Streets Department compost site at Lula Lane.
The City transfer station is open from 6:00AM till 3:00PM Monday thru Friday. Our tipping fee is $44.00 per ton, with a minimum of $10.00. We accept checks ONLY. Cash, credit and debit cards WILL NOT be accepted.
If you would like to open an account, please call (615) 794-1516 or see Application for Transfer Station Disposal Service.
