Recently, the Tennessee Legislature passed legislation requiring courts to collect and pay to the State a fee of $13.75 for traffic citations paid prior to an appearance in Court. This applies to all payments made after July 1, 2011. That fee is reflected in the Fee Schedule.
Individuals who appear in Court will not have the fee applied. However, any defendant appearing in Court and found to be Guilty will incur a State-mandated Litigation tax. The Litigation Tax is $27.50 which is added to Fines and Court Costs.
Questions may be addressed and payments may be made to the Court Clerk at 615-794-5362 weekdays from 8 to 5. Credit cards are accepted (convenience fee applies for phone payments).
