The Water Section comprises the Water Treatment and Water Distribution Divisions. In June 2012, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) performed a Sanitary Survey of the Water Section which earned an approved score of 97.

The Water Treatment Facility is located on Lewisburg Pike. This facility treats approximately 2-million gallons of water per day from a 114-million gallon raw-water reservoir. Staff at the Water Treatment Facility perform numerous functions including water treatment, compliance sampling and laboratory analysis, building and grounds maintenance and assisting the Water Distribution Service & Maintenance division with system maintenance and operation.

The Water Distribution Service & Maintenance Division maintains approximately 275 miles of Water-Distribution lines, five (5) booster stations, and seven (7) finished-water storage tanks with a capacity of 10 million gallons.
