Electronic Waste

The City of Franklin Sanitation and Environmental Services Department provides a free service to Williamson County residents. Residents are able to drop-off batteries, oil, paint, antifreeze, and electronics (BOPAE) at the City of Franklin Transfer Station located at 417 Century Court.

Previously, these items would only be accepted during the Household Hazardous Waste Collection days sponsored by Keep Williamson Beautiful and the Williamson County Solid Waste Department. The City of Franklin and Williamson County formed an inter-local agreement to make this service available to residents five days a week.

This is a free service for Williamson County residents only and commercial waste will not be accepted. The City of Franklin Sanitation and Environmental Services Department will accept residential BOPAE waste Monday through Friday from 6:30 am until 2 pm.

Beginning November 2012 the site started accepting cooking oil. (This service is for Williamson County residents only).

DO NOT place Batteries, Oil, Paint or Anti-freeze in your trash or at curbside. 

Electronics placed at curbside will be collected with your regular trash and WILL NOT be recycled.

    Computers - Laptops and desktop, hard drives should be cleared of any personal information
    All computer components - mice, keyboards, monitors, speakers and cables.
    Electronic Circuit boards and components
    Fax machines, copiers, printers, scanners and modems
    Televisions - flat and tube type
    Telephones - Cell phones and telephone systems (cordless and wired)
    Stereo equipment - CD players, DVD players, VCR's and pagers
    Video Games, handheld games, PDA's
    Microwave ovens
    Small appliances (Mixers, Toaters, Coffee Pots, Crock Pots)
  • Residential Medical Equipment
    All cables
    *Most any household electrical item that does not have a compressor
