The Water Section comprises the Water Treatment and Water Distribution Divisions. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) performed a Sanitary Survey of the Water Section in 2014 which earned an approved score of 97. See previous scores in previous years below.
The Water Treatment Facility is located on Lewisburg Pike. This facility treats approximately 2-million gallons of water per day from a 114-million gallon raw-water reservoir. Staff at the Water Treatment Facility perform numerous functions including water treatment, compliance sampling and laboratory analysis, building and grounds maintenance and assisting the Water Distribution Service & Maintenance division with system maintenance and operation.
The Water Distribution Service & Maintenance Division maintains approximately 275 miles of Water-Distribution lines, five (5) booster stations, and seven (7) finished-water storage tanks with a capacity of 10 million gallons.
