Deputy Chief Chris Gentry

Deputy Chief Chris Gentry leads the Department’s Field Operations Division with over 25 years of service to the Franklin community. A graduate of the FBI National Academy, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and the Tennessee Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, Deputy Chief Gentry oversees the Department’s patrol and special operations teams (Uniformed Patrol, K9, SWAT, Flex, Crisis Negotiations, Underwater Recovery, Traffic & Motors Unit, and Bike Patrol). Serving in the US Army Reserve, he is a veteran of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Deputy Chief Gentry earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Indiana University and graduate degrees from Tennessee State University in public administration and the US Army War College in strategic studies.
