Brixx Wood Fired Pizza
Brixx Wood Fired Pizza has been named “Green Partner of the Month” in the City of Franklin’s Live Green Partnership Program. The restaurant recently opened in the Cool Springs Area and has 22 locations throughout the Southeast. A “Platinum Level” member, Brixx opened in the McEwen Building in September.
Brixx has implemented several sustainable measures at their Franklin location including recyclable to-go containers; LED lighting; power needs well below energy code requirements; carpeting made from recycled content; and recycling all plastics, cardboards, and metals from food packaging. Other innovative “green” initiatives consist of a bar top made of recycled bottles, linoleum flooring which is a natural, biodegradable and recyclable product, and recyclable to-go bags which offer a discount incentive to customers who reuse them for future orders
“The leadership of Brixx has been concerned about recycling and green business practices since the first store opened its doors in the historic Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte, N.C. 13 years ago,” commented Jenni Hanmer, Director of Marketing. “The City of Franklin’s support and enthusiasm for sustainability meant a great deal to us and solidified our belief that Brixx is right at home in Franklin.”
Operating Partner Eric Horsley is also excited to become a part of the Franklin community. He says “It’s not just about pizza. We also care about the community. We recycle everything possible, and most of our beers are on tap to eliminate waste. We also give back to the community by sponsoring local and national charities. When we open in a neighborhood, we get to know our neighbors. When they need a hand, we’re there to help.”
Brixx Wood Fired Pizza is located on McEwen Drive on the bottom level of the McEwen Building. The restaurant is open for lunch, dinner, and late night and also available for catering.
The Live Green Partnership for Businesses is a collaborative effort of businesses in Franklin that promote sustainable operations in the work place.
