Franklin has improved its fire protection rating with the Insurance Services Office (ISO) to a Class 2 from a Class 3, placing it into the top one percent of communities across the country, according to ISO representative Richard Vance. Only four others in Tennessee share this rating - Chattanooga, Cookeville, Memphis and Murfreesboro.
“It’s a great accomplishment,” said City Administrator Eric Stuckey. “Improving the fire protection system not only makes our community a safer place to live, but from a business standpoint, it will help create opportunities and support growth due to lower property insurance costs. I know Chief Garzarek and his team have worked very hard to achieve this improved rating. I'm very pleased with their efforts.”
