The City of Franklin has 637 full-time and 54 part-time approved positions. Employees are currently paid each week, resulting in roughly 37,000 payroll checks produced on an annual basis. Almost 90% of those employee payments are made by direct deposit.
The payroll staff also transmits payments and produces for: quarterly and annual reports for 940 and 941 IRS withholding forms, various deductions for optional life and health insurance, various other deductions required by law, and reporting of employee contributions to 401a, 457 and retiree health investment plans.
