INSURANCE

The City of Franklin maintains comprehensive property and casualty coverage on its fixed assets and liability coverage through the Tennessee Municipal League Risk Pool. Through the Pool, the City is able to obtain rates that are usually much higher in the open market.

 

The City also maintains a health insurance plan for its employees. The plan is self insured and administered currently by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Tennessee. Employees can choose from a typical PPO plan or a similar plan with high deductibles. Employees pay a portion of the calculated insurance premiums, which are reevaluated and adjusted each year based on claims and health care inflation.
