Ken is a native Tennessean and is married to Linda Crowell, a Franklin native.
Ken graduated from Donelson High School, received his B.S from Tennessee Tech, his M.D. from University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and his orthopaedic training at Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Hand Surgery. Ken is a veteran of the United States Army. After retirement from his clinical practice, he has continued to be active in organized medicine serving on national committees dealing with patient care issues and advocating on a national and state level for medical and patient care issues. He completed the presidency of the Clinical Orthopaedic Society in 2007. He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church and a teacher in the Voyager’s Sunday School Class.
He currently chairs the development committee for the Columbia State Community Foundation Board and is involved with developing a new campus for the college in Franklin. He continues to work on legislative issues for the Tennessee Medical Association. His volunteerism has included teaching orthopaedic surgery and rendering care in third world countries such as Ethiopia. Ken is a member of the Franklin Rotary at Breakfast Club.
Elected in 2007 as an Alderman at Large, his committee assignments as alderman will be Public Transportation and Public Utilities.
