Alderman McLendon was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1967 and raised in Tennessee and North Carolina. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1989 and from Vanderbilt Law School in 1993. He practices law in Franklin. Alderman McLendon was elected in 1997 and re-elected in 2001. Alderman McLendon serves as Chairman of the Public Enterprise Advisory Committee and Vice Chairman of the Public Safety Advisory Committee. He is also the City's liaison to the County Wastewater authority. McLendon lives in Fieldstone Farms with his wife Amy and sons, Cal and Ben.
