Deputy Chief Mike Jordan
Mike Jordan has been with Franklin Police Department since July 21, 1979 and has been promoted through the ranks to this current position as the Deputy Police Chief of Criminal Investigative Division (CID).
Deputy Chief Jordan is currently completing his Bachelors of Science Degree in Management and Ethics at Williamson Christian College in Franklin. He is a 2005 graduate of the Southeastern Command & Leadership Academy (SCLA) at University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, TN, as well as a member of National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE).
The role of the Criminal Investigative Division is to combat crime by the provision of prompt, diligent, and proactive investigations while respecting the rights of the citizens of Franklin.
The Criminal Investigative Division of the Franklin Police Department is divided into three separate sections, Major Crime Unit, Internet Crimes against Children, Narcotics and Vice Unit.
The division accomplishes this mission by maximizing the use of traditional investigative techniques in combination with the most current technological resources available. The division works in close cooperation with other internal units of the Police Department , as well as other local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies to accomplish its ultimate goal of successful response to the needs of the citizens of the City of Franklin.

Sexual Offender Locator
The ICAC Task Force Program was created to help State and local law enforcement agencies enhance their investigative response to offenders who use the Internet, online communication systems, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children. The program is currently composed of 46 regional Task Force Agencies and is funded by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
The Franklin Police Department dedicated two investigators to the formation of a satellite task force office in Franklin, TN in 2005. The Franklin ICAC Task Force office works in conjunction with the Knoxville ICAC Task Force office. The Franklin ICAC Task Force works with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to combat the growing epidemic of online child exploitation, enticement, and child pornography.

2007 Goals for the Criminal Investigation/Narcotics Unit
Goal 1: Increase Investigative Clearance Rate
Objective: The criminal investigative division will attain and maintain a 30% investigative clearance rate. This will reflect a 3% increase over the 27% clearance rate attained in 2006.
Attainment Indicators: Franklin Police Department Criminal Investigations Division statistics. The division will continue to emphasis complete criminal investigative tactics. The division will stress debriefing arrested subjects for intelligence and crime information. The division will continue to maintain excellent lines of communication between all surrounding jurdicitations to aid in identification and apprehension of criminals.
Goal 2: Increase Narcotics Arrest and Seizures
Objective: Criminal Investigative Division Narcotics Unit will increase Narcotics arrest and seizures by 10%.
Attainment Indicators: Criminal Investigative Division Narcotics Unit Monthly.
The division will continue it's highly productivity and proactive narcotics enforcement. The narcotics unit will work closely with the Operations Division to address the ever challenging elicit narcotics problem.
Goal 3: Utilize Databases
Objective: Criminal Investigative Division will be proactive rather that reactive in investigative and problem solving. Apply critical analysis and utilize all available databases to identify crime patterns and locate known offenders and wanted persons.
Attainment Indicator: Criminal Investigative Division will hold weekly accountable sessions to scrutinize current crime trends, employee statistical activity and administrative issues.
