Franklin Hires New Director for Human Resources

Longtime Franklin resident selected after extensive national search.

Franklin, TN - Franklin City Administrator Eric Stuckey has announced the selection of Kevin Townsel as the City’s new Director of Human Resources. Townsel, a longtime Franklin resident, comes to the City with over 20 years of Human Resources experience.

Townsel currently serves as the Vice President of Legal Affairs and Human Resources for DLR Management Company, a national restaurant company with approximately 2000 employees. He has also worked as an HR executive for Logan’s Roadhouse restaurants, Burger King Corporation, and TransCor America. Townsel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law.

“Kevin will be a great asset to the City of Franklin,” stated City Administrator Stuckey. “His experience plus his dedication to and love of Franklin make him a great fit for this position. We look forward to having him as part of the City’s Leadership Team as we continue to strive to make Franklin an employer of choice.”

“I enjoy being active in Franklin in various capacities,” shared Townsel. “I feel extremely fortunate that in my new role as the City’s Director of Human Resources, I will be able to focus greater time and energy on actively supporting the City and its employees.” Townsel was recently elected to his second term on the Franklin Special School District Board and currently serves as a board member to My Friend’s House. He is also a 2009 graduate of Leadership Franklin.

Townsel begins his new position on March 27th.
